The Long Road to Nowhere: Day 1

4:20 PM, January 12:

It was unseasonably warm today, enough that I only needed two jackets and a scarf keep comfortable.  I had stopped in at Wal-Mart to buy some off-brand nicotine patches, hairspray, face wash, and Astroglide.  I really only needed the first item, but this was Wal-Mart, after all. 

Hello World

Hello internets! I started this blog to track my progress while I quit smoking. I also find writing to be cathartic, and needed a place to gab about software development or odd dreams, so here it is. I thought I would introduce myself to the blogosphere this way; there’s no Miss Manners of blogging etiquette (unless you count Cory Doctorow), so this seemed like the proper thing to do.

To be honest, I’d rather not write anything too descriptive about myself – I do wish to maintain some level of privacy. I will say, though, that I’m a college student in my mid-twenties, mixed-race, gay, no longer single, and no longer a cigarette smoker. I’ll be writing to the best of my ability (mostly), and I welcome your comments, whatever they may be.
